A-Pillar trim removal

Nearside A-Pillar trim

Introduction

Use this guide to remove the A-Pillar trim on a 2007 - 2010 Mini Cooper S.

1. Equipment

Gather the following equipment to complete this guide. The links below direct you to the exact products I used.

2. Removal

  1. Remove the front wing trim piece by simply pulling it up. You might find it easier to pull from the edge.

  2. Open the passenger door and pull down the corner of the door seal. You might need two hands for this one.

  3. Next, grab your screwdriver and remove the 4 screws pinning the tabs to the A-Pillar.

  4. Now, the only thing securing the trim piece to the A-Pillar is 4 plastic clips. They're suprisingly stubborn and it takes a little effort to remove the trim without cracking it or breaking the clips.

Start from the top, use two hands and pull the trim from both sides. One of my hands was busy with the camera but I hope you understand.

🏁 Conclusion

Reassembly is the reverse of removal.
