2. Removal

  1. Grab your 3/8 inch ratch, extention and 10mm socket and remove the bolts that secure the fuel filter housing cover.

  2. The panel might be stiff and stuck to the chassis slightly, hammer the flathead screwdriver below the panel, pry up and lift off.

If it's dirty, hoover up a little and wipe down the fuel filter housing lid to prevent contamination when we open it up.

  8. Remove the flathead and lower the housing about 80% of the way.

Drop down the main seal, blue one, and push it in until the top flat edge is flush.

Essentially, the bottom lip of the blue seal should hook under the black rim.

  9. Once the seal is properly seated, line up the lid with the paint mark and push it home. You'll known immediately if the seal is properlly installed, the lid should stay put and not pop out.

🏁 Conclusion

Reassembly is the reverse of removal starting at step 7 and working your way backwards.

Also, prior to starting the car, turn the ignition on and off 4 times to prime the fuel and the new filter.
