Front wiper blade replacement

Introduction

Use this guide to replace the front wipers on a 2007 - 2010 R56 Mini Cooper S.

This car uses a J-hook style wiper to attach the blade. Both the blades should be the same size at 19 inches.

2. Removal w/ clasp

  1. Pinch and pull the tab towards you to expose the J-hook.

  2. Next, tilt the blade clockwise sightly

  3. Finally, push the blade towards the windscreen to unhook and remove it from the hook.

2. Removal W/o clasp

  1. Grab and hinge the windscreen wiper so it sits perpendicular to it's resting position.

  2. Tilt / hinge the wiper blade so it sites perpendicular to the wiper arm.

  3. Grab both metal sides of the wiper blade, either side of the J hook and push toward the windscreen.

    The blade should slide off fairly easily, once released from the J hook, navigate it around and remove.

    Note, on installation, the round part of the swivel should be on the outside, it's the part the wiper arm hooks onto.

Reassembly is the reverse of removal.
